Cybernations

November 23, 2008

As some of you know, and others of you may not know, I play cybernations, a browser-based nation simulation game. It’s really quite a fun game, and it only takes 5minutes to play (you don’t even have to do it everyday).

here’s the link : http://www.cybernations.net

also, if you join be sure to check out my alliance: Fly ( www.flycn.co.cc)

Intonation face

November 16, 2008

It has been quite a long week and weekend, and now for some cateogry-style blogging:

Donnie Darko and other adventures with Tracey.

So i hung out with Tracey for over 24 hours starting Friday night around 6:30 and ending around 2 am Sunday morning. In that time we went swimming, watched Donnie Darko, ate Flaming cheese at crankers, went to a protest, walked around downtown, bought 13 books (for a total of $1.30), invited people over (inculding Walter, Charlie, Liz, Chelsea, and Justin), and played paper telephone with said people.

Donnie Darko was a very good movie, i want to read the book (if there is one).

Kiss me Kate

…is opening on Wednesday night at 7:30. Come see it! Performances wed-sat 7:30 and sun 2:00. You’ll get to hear me play in the pit on Horn, and alto and soprano sax. The pit has had a lot of fun preparing the music, and we can’t wait to share it!

The Saxophone update (MTNA edition)

Spectrum did pretty well at MTNA, receiving ‘Honorable Mention’. After the competition we went out to eat at P.F. Changs and had great dinner and great conversation. We are now working on new literature in quartet (which is quite a nice change of pace from MTNA lit) and I am looking forward to the Fischoff competition and eventually to Thailand!!

My lessons have been fine but not necessarily good or bad. He is still all for me giving a recital in early February which I can more than be ready for. It looks like the lit for it will be Muczynski Sonata, Mai, Rumanian Dances, the Fasch Sonata, Ars, and a quartet (probably five of those six pieces). He also wants me to work on the Dahl after my recital.

6 Rumanian Dances

November 5, 2008

Last night was a pretty good time.

Dad came up to drive me down to Lansing to get my soprano and alto fixed (and Jordan’s soprano and alto also). Whilst waiting for Doug to work his magic, we went to a bookstore a looked around the store, which resulted in my purchasing the game ‘Pit’ which I can’t wait to play with some people up here.

He also brought (from home) a pair of pants, a french horn, two books (Faith of the Fallen and Pillars of Creation), and a saxophone stand for me. The next rehearsal for Kiss me Kate is tomorrow, and I’m excited to see if the map i’ve laid out of switching back and forth between the Horn book and the Reed 1 book will work as nicely as i think it will.

Band was actually fairly enjoyable yesterday. I don’t care what anyone says, I love American Riversongs.

Well, off to practice.
