*creepy voice* Grrreg, Grrreg

September 24, 2008

So I was going to bed, listening to music … in that stage where you aren’t really sure if you are awake or not… and my phone rang. I, of course, thought it was the alarm for the morning. Luckily, it wasn’t, it was Ryan calling and asking if he could come over and hang out for a while.

So, we talked until not too long ago, and through the course of our conversation brought up such topics as: religion, bugs bunny, hungarian rhapsody, honors bands, blue lake, our sisters (both named megan), as well as a couple of other things.

The great thing about talking to a music major is that there is no pressure to keep the conversation going (and thus it flows more naturally) because if you do run out of something to say, you can just talk about music and it is just as enjoyable, and in some cases moreso.

Tomorrow is a movie night with Ryan and Kristi , I’m looking forward to it 😀

a bad day for the non-single

August 24, 2008

A sad day for relationships, this has truly been.

FIrst, i get a message from Cam, telling me that he and brad broke up… they were such a good couple and i think he’s really upset (though it’s hard to tell in text).

Then, while my parents were eating arby’s with me, cassie came and crying and came right up to me…. so my parents left (after a “please leave now” look from me) and I found out that her and ben just broke up 😦

So right now I’m trying to get cassie settled down, and prepped for the marching band performance in (checks watch) 1.5 hours (well that’s our call time at least)

oh boy…

The last post from home

August 17, 2008

I move in tomorrow, and I can’t wait.

I’m still not all the way packed though :-/ … gotta go finish that right after this obligatory last-post-from-home post.

Family reunion today was unexpectedly fun….

*general college excitement*

my latest stumblings

January 18, 2008

had very nice dinner and conversation with monica tonight in which we jointly came up with this

music used to be our escape, now it’s our work. Don’t get us wrong, we love music but now we need another escape. I’ve been (attempting) drawing, but i’m also thinking about doing some more rock climbing with monica

the tuesday/thursday evaluation

January 10, 2008

so, 8 am piano isnt the best, but there are like 5 of us in there, so it was kinda fun

then 9 am sightsinging with montoya is going to be a blast, plus monica is in there

studio is studio lol

in brass tech today russian fred was staying pretty high, but with the proper coaxing he came down

the 2pm nature of language class (though i’m probably the only one to think so) is EXTREMELY interesting, it discusses what language is to the natives of that language, and what it really means in terms of the way our brains work… also on how different languages form (creole) and improvised languages (pidgin) and the grammar that develops for those

band is band, but there is some better literature this semester and sitting next to cassie is awesome

we sounded really nice today in quartet and got a ton done, we are now on the polishing stage of the andante from andante et scherzzeto by pierre lantier, and we even rounded up an audience (adam g, pat b, kelsey c, and chelsea m) to listen to us, and they also said it sounded great

so tues/thurs are gonna be long but ok
